Hey, TB (lol, just realized your initials for your stage name XD )

This song, by far, carries your best implementation of the bass-synth style you are now notorious for.

I really enjoy this piece, and find it to be your best so far.

Keep up the good work! (And review some of my stuff, maybe? :3 Also, I'd like to talk to you about a collab, if you're interested.)

TheBiocide responds:

Ahahahaha, I just noticed the initials for my stage name just so happen to be my actual initials as well...

Thanks for the review, dude! Lovin' the kind words :) And I'll be sure to check out some of your tunes and give you some feedback asap.

Cheers, bud!

Pretty good for a first.

You should definitely work on mastering, well, mastering. The synths were well balanced, but the drums need work.

Try a little more punch (or at least a little more volume) on the claps/snares in a song. Also, turn up the kicks, and have either a shorter/clickier hat, or turn them a little down.

Overall, I like the theme you have going on here. A nice "epic" key to this song. The lack of a lot of power and contrasting volumes prevents it from truly *feeling* epic, though.

You are on the right track; you just need to work on mastering.

Much better than my first dubstep. Keep up the good work!

balderdact responds:

Thanks for the advice :D

I will indulge your happiness, as this song indulges mine.

This is by far the best Glitchstep I have ever heard. I can not think of a single comparison (second place now falls to Living Hell by JPhelpz).

This is so beautifully made. It is simply relaxing, and carries your emotions away. I could easily picture a video in my head for this.

I love this masterpiece.

Numi responds:

Wow dude. Thanks for the kind words! You have no idea what it means to me as a musician to hear something like that about something I wrote. I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

I recognize the guitar VST. Revitar? (Can't remember the name)

To me, this is very videogame-y. It is quite original, however the percussion seems pretty basic.

If I had to guess, I would say you haven't been at this for a while.

For what it is, it is pretty decent. The wobble bass is... hard to explain. I'm kinda neutral on it.

Anyway, decent job.

asmorbidus responds:

thanks for the review!

the guitar is a default plugin for FLStudio.

My only complaint are the odd vocal samples in the background of the drop-- they aren't quite fitting in my opinion.

Other than that it's great, though. Still love your bass synths.

TheBiocide responds:

Three of my favorite people to hear from comment in a row - it's a sign! Haha!
But really, thanks, man. I'm glad you enjoyed the tune for the most part :)

I agree with below. Especially when the synth jumps between notes the second time around. It doesn't it and breaks the flow pretty bad. It was a nice try though.

Indigorain responds:

Thanks for the criticism man, I'll get to that! :D

This has quite the trancey feel in the beginning (which I noticed you have as a tag). The drop is filthy, to be sure. The synths in the drop feel like they could be a little better balanced, with a little more emphasis on the treble (your bass is very strong though). Also a little more on just the middle frequencies in general (raising the volume on snares, melody, etc.) would be nice.

I'm enjoying what I'm hearing. I'm feeling the ethereality of this piece, but not as much emotion. I think the second drop is just a bit mashed up, as is the ending (a little too much reverb). While I enjoy reverb, some parts seem a little excessive.

I hope you took this as constructive criticism and not some asshole trying to weigh you down.

MattReeves responds:

Thanks man! Yeah, my mixing skills aren't very impressive. You got me there. Although I don't really agree about the "emotion" part. I guess it varies from person to person, but a lot of emotion was put into this song, and I think it certainly shows. Anyway, I really appreciate the feedback. I need to go through all the reviews like this and actually apply them, haha.

You, Biocide, are one of the few artists that can use the same bass synth in multiple songs and keep it fairly fresh sounding.

Another job well done.

TheBiocide responds:

Ahhh, thanks a ton, man :) I feel that way about a few artists as well so I really appreciate you saying that about me. Much love, dude <3

Always good to hear from ya!

I must agree with the lack of a general melody, as well as the production overall.

One thing I can always count on you for: some fairly unique basses; can't say I've heard anything quite like them. Been listening since you came out with Bullhorns (and you really shot up from there; I can't even begin to compete).

Keep kickin' ass.

TheBiocide responds:

Thanks, a lot, buddy :) I always look forward to your reviews.

I think I can pretty much agree with you guys as far as the reviews are concerned - this song's definitely far from perfect. I literally JUST finished my latest tune, (haven't uploaded it anywhere yet) and to go from that to this is... weird. Hahaha

I guess what I'm trying to say is: I'm really glad you liked this one, but there's much better to come ;)

Cheers, man!
